Wedgewood Happenings — 04.22.2019

The Wedgewood 18-Hole 1-Person Scramble and $1000 Cash Shoot Out is scheduled for May 4 with tee times at 8:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.  Please sign up in 3-person teams and choose your starting hole by visiting the proshop or calling 417.926.5374.  Cost is $45 per person and includes lunch.  Carts are available for rent.   Senior tees for over 60, 70 and 80.  The Shoot Out game will be held following the tournament.

Easter weekend was beautiful golfing weather and nineteen played in the daily game Saturday afternoon.  A mini tournament is planned for Saturday, April 27 during the youth clinic and an early lunch and awards will follow play.

The course will be closed Friday, April 26 for aeration of the greens and helpers are welcome to assist with the work.  Thank you, Doug Cook, for donating the Wedgewood hats and thank you, Tony Glenn, for donating a set of youth clubs.   A big thank you to members Dave Davis and Kevin Clary for volunteer mowing at the course.   We have so many great folks at the club that are always willing to help out so I hope I am not leaving anyone out.

Wedgewood History Files — April 3, 1969 — Dues at WWCC are due effective April 1.  A teen party will be held from 8 until 12 p.m. Saturday.  High school and college age members and their guests may attend.  The Grass Patch, a band from Springfield will play.  The party will be chaperoned by mothers and refreshments will be served.   The April family night is Saturday, April 19.  Stag nights are April 10 and 24.   Movies showing at the State Theater at Cabool  are “Paper Lion”  starring Alan Alda  and the Detroit Loins and “A Lovely Way To Die” starring Kirk Douglas.  — Cabool Enterprise
