Wedgewood Happenings — 11.06.2017

The Wedgewood Annual members meeting was held Saturday, October 28 at 6 PM in the clubhouse meeting room.   Jeremy Raney, Vice President, thanked Scott Elliott, Grounds Superintendent, for the good condition of the course.  The greens are in great shape and the fairways are improved due to recent sodding and zoysia plantings.  He also thanked volunteer Dave Davis for his help mowing and taking care of the greens.  Gale Wright, Proshop Manager, was recognized for working many hours this season and Gale is a great asset to Wedgewood.   Jeremy recognized proshop volunteers  — Alicia Biffle, Bob and Charlotte Cameron, Karla Clark, John Mark Hale, Kris Lane and Freda Proctor.   Wedgewood received lots of compliments this season on how nice and clean the clubhouse is being kept and the condition of the clubhouse is due to the volunteers.   Discussion was held on the condition of the course, clubhouse and pool.     Members discussed types and timing of next year’s tournaments.   Thank you Brian Fleetwood, new director, and returning director Jody Jarrett for agreeing to serve on the Wedgewood board through 2020.

Thank you to the members that helped organize and run league play this season — Monday women’s,  Mary Beth Kaps;  Tuesday men’s, Jeremy Raney; Wednesday women’s, Jody Jarrett and Friday Cat & Dog, Doug Jones, John Cook and Brian Fleetwood.

A Wedgewood mystery has been solved.  Several times the past couple weeks a $5 bill has appeared in the dropbox at Wedgewood and the honest person left a note this week.  They pick up range balls, hit the balls and then pay $5.  Thank you for your honesty and patronage.

The last scheduled night golf event will be Saturday, November 11 at 7:00 PM.  Another session is being planned for spring (weather dependent). Thank you, Cabool Tires for sponsoring this event.
