The leaves are falling at Wedgewood and the fairways are turning brown but the course continues to be in good shape. Max Edwards, Salem, has been playing local courses for the past 12 years. He has played Wedgewood 4 or 5 times the last few years and said it is “the best shape it has been”. He also said “Wedgewood has the best tee boxes and greens of the 25-26 local courses he has played”. Thank you Max and friends for patronizing WWCC. Also, thank you to the grounds crew Dave Davis and Chuck Vance for keeping Wedgewood in great shape.
The proshop closed October 31 but the course remains open year round from daylight to dusk. The course operates on the honor system; please see instructions at the east side door. For advance golf cart reservations, call 417.254.1079. Range balls are not available during the closed season and the on-course facility at six tee is open.

The following is from Lindell Brumley’s Wedgewood Happenings article dated July 7, 2005. On Tuesday, June 28th the WWCC Men’s League played with the following results: Points over average winner was Larry Anderson; Doug Jones placed second. CTP winners on holes #2 and #5 was Jeremy Raney while Doug Jones was the closes on hole #7. Doug also won the only skin of the night on hole #1. Let’s see, Doug won second in points over average, closest to the pin on hole #7 and he also won the only skin of the night, maybe an official inspection is in order to check his golf clubs and golf balls, they may be loaded or, like the commercial says on the Golf channel ” This guy is good”. I’m sure the latter is the case. Friday, July 1 was the gathering of the weekly Cat and Dog teams. Winners in this week’s competiton were: championship flight, Doug and Melanie Cook: “A” flight, York Noirfalise and Carol Sue Roberts. CTP on hole #2 was York Noirfalise, Barbara Tate took the honors on hole #5 and Kathy Noirfalise was Closest on hole #7.
