The Wedgewood greens are freshly aerated which means a little sandy. Thank you Doug Jones and Dave Davis for completing this task. Saturday several members worked on the course mowing and weedeating — Kevin Clary, Jeremy Hannaford, and Doug Jones. Chuck Vance, a new helper, also assisted with mowing and Charlie Blackwell assisted with the greens project Saturday.

Wedgewood History Files — May 1, 1969 Wedgewood Golf Course Opening Set — A work day has been planned for Saturday between 1-6:30 p.m. but members may come anytime. Workers are encouraged to bring rakes, containers for picking up rocks, knives to help weed the greens, wheelbarrows and other tools for helping spruce up the grounds. Following the “working” plans are being made for a hamburger fry, refreshments, and bingo in the evening. The golf cart shed is completed and will house 32 carts. Work is proceeding on the shower and dressing rooms for the heated pool. Plans call for restroom facilities and shelter house to be constructed by the 6th tee. The board anticipates full opening to golfers outside the 15-mile membership radius who pay green fees and for use of golf carts around May 17.
