Scott Elliott, Grounds Superintendent, has completed aerating the greens which was a big task this year due to all the rain. Zoysia in the fairways has also been aerated. The grounds look good and due to the rain the grass is plentiful. Some mornings and evenings have been cool for golfing maybe a mild blackberry winter but no freezing temperatures.
Monday, May 8th will begin the Wedgewood league season and nonmembers can play for $5 league fees. Monday Women’s League at 9:30 AM; Tuesday Evening Men’s at 6:00 PM; Wednesday Evening Women’s at 6:00 PM and Friday Cat & Dog at 6:00 PM. Wedgewood has four new carts leased for the season plus the old fleet of carts. Range balls are available (member discounts) if you would like to use the driving range. Snacks are available for purchase and Wedgewood accepts debit and credit payments for transactions. Currently the proshop is open daily except Mondays.
A new volunteer this season is Caboolian Karla (Hannah) Clark). Karla retired two years ago and is looking to stay in touch with people. Karla isn’t planning to golf but said she isn’t opposed to learning golf. She is looking forward to using the swimming pool. Karla is enjoying seeing familiar faces, visiting with old acquaintances and looking forward to meeting all the members.
