Wedgewood welcomes proshop volunteer, Fred Preciado.  Fred and Jo Ann Preciado purchased a historic home in Houston in 2007 and moved to Houston in 2012.   Fred retired from the Air Force after 26 years and retired again with 20 years service as a Santa Barbara County Probation/Parole Officer.   Fred began his golfing career in 1960 while living in Tacoma Washington and while serving at the McChord Air Force Base.  He loved serving/living in Guam where he lived across the street from a golf course.  Fred and JoAnn stay busy volunteering.  They are both Friends of the Texas County Library and Jo Ann volunteers at TCMH.  They also assist with babysitting for a 3-month old foster child.

Wedgwood member, Michele Myers, is maintaining a  Wedgewood Facebook page titled Wedgewood Happenings.  You can also get Wedgewood information at wedgewoodcc.com

The grounds at Wedgewood are beautiful this spring and fairways and greens are in great shape.  The bermuda is almost completely green this week and the zoysia is like carpet. Thank you, Scott Elliott, Grounds Superintendent and Dave Davis, Volunteer for all your hard work.  Thank you, Kevin Clary, for mowing around the clubhouse Sunday, May 6th.

Sign up sheets to donate to the zosyia project and to donate to the #8 cartpath are posted at the proshop.

The next Wedgewood tournament will be the 2-Person 18-Hole Scramble June 16th with tee times at 8:00 and 1:00.  This tournament is Saturday only so everyone will have an opportunity to play in the Willow tournament the same weekend.  Also, mark your calendar for Friday, June 29th which will be the Garden Inn Cabool Alumni Golf Tournament and Silent Auction at Wedgewood from 11 AM till 4 PM.

The Wedgewood proshop will be open Memorial Day (Monday, May 28th).  Stop by Memorial Day and visit with John Mark Hale, proshop volunteer.   Also, the swimming pool will be open for Memorial weekend.
