Wedgewood Happenings — 05.28.17

Wedgewood is fortunate to have Christopher Lane, a college student, to open the proship on Mondays through summer.  Thank you, Christopher, we are happy to have your assistance.  Alicia Biffle is a new Wedgewood proshop volunteer.  She is learning the game of golf and plans to join the women’s leagues.  Alicia is retired and is a substitute teacher.   Her hobbies include caring for her mammoth donkeys and cats.  We are so appreciative of all our proshop volunteers and they are doing a great job.  They are all versatile — assisting customers, picking up range balls, cleaning the grounds and facilities, and so on.

Men’s League results for May 23rd includes CTP (closest to the pin) winners Trent Jones, Hole 5 and Dennis Branstetter, Hole 7.  Skin winners were Trent Jones, Holes 2 and 5 and Brian Fleetwood, Hole 3.  Brian Fleetwood and Chase Jones tied for 1st place.  Men’s League plays Tuesdays at 6 PM.

Friday Cat & Dog results include CTP winners Freda Proctor and Doug Jones on hole 7.  First place winners were Donna and Doug Jones; 3rd place Marcy and Brian Fleetwood and 5th place Freda and Frank Proctor.   This league plays Friday evenings at 6 PM.

Monday Women’s League winners were Donna Jones and Mary Beth Kaps, and 2nd place winners were Freda Proctor and Mary Auen.   Women’s League plays Mondays at 9:30 AM and Wednesdays at 6 PM.  Please feel free to play in any of the leagues and non-members can play for $5 league fee.

Memorial weekend was a busy holiday at Wedgewood.  Sunday Eighteen played in the big game and many additional members took advantage of the beautiful day to enjoy a round of golf.  The swimming pool had swimmers everyday through the weekend and we even had some tailgaters cooking out Sunday.

Mark your calendar for the upcoming 2-Person 18-Hole Wedgewood Tournament to be held June Saturday, June 24.  For additional information or to sign up, call the proshop at 417.926.5374.
