Wedgewood Happenings — 05.30.16

Occasional stormy weather has set in for a while it appears. The golf course
is handling it pretty well however it has delayed the volunteers attempting to
get the pool open. It’s ready for paint and hopefully by the time you read this
it full and sparkling. It always looks so inviting after a fresh coat of paint.
Pool memberships are available now. Call the pro shop at 417-926-5374 between
noon and 6 PM weekdays or 8 – 6 on weekends for details. The pool is members
only. Guests of members can swim for a fee.

No report from the Monday women’s group. Hope to get an update on that next
week. The Wed night ladies on 5-18 wound up in a tie for first between Mary
Beth Kaps and Jody Jarrett. Good job ladies.

The Friday night Cat and Dog on 5-20 had a light turnout. A draw was
declared between the participants. The ladies closest to pin however a
carry-over from last week.

Tuesday night men’s league has been rained out 2 consecutive weeks. Cross
your fingers for drier weather ahead!

Scott got all the new tee marker posts set. Volunteers Trent Jones and
Shelby Gray then set the new course sign frame. Trent and Shelby then returned
Saturday AM and installed all of the new signs. They look great. If you see
those young men pat them on the back.

Due to an early holiday press time we don’t have the results of the 2 person
scramble yet. Hope to have those for next week.

Volunteer of the week is Gina Cabano. Gina came on board with the group
operating the Pro Shop and has done an outstanding job. Thank you Gina and to
all the volunteers that make Wedgewood what it is. It could not be done without
them.

Won’t be long and the Zoysia sod group will be back in action. The efforts
of the 2 previous years are really starting to show. If you would like to join
in or donate a pallet or two of sod, the folks in pro shop know and we will
contact you when it’s time. Hopefully we can get enough donations for more than
one load this year.

See you at the course!
